This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall." Vince Lombardi.

I teach a very enthusiastic group of third and fourth graders in southern California.

Although our area is lower income our goals are set high in everything we study and do. Our school is well maintained, we have a lovely garden and a large play area where the crack of a bat or the toss of a football makes educating the whole child possible.

My Project

Sports is a great way to build team and class spirit. The baseball, football, hockey and stickball equipment will help my class learn various team building skills. It will also help with coordination and build healthy habits. Most of my students live in apartment buildings or small houses so going out to play is limited. This equipment will help promote an active lifestyle now and for the future.

At the end of every school year the student challenge the teachers to a softball game.

The past five years the teachers have won. With the sports equipment I am requesting and more practice I am hoping to level the playing field. Go students beat the teachers!
