This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Starting the new year on the right foot means staying clean and organized.
PE is overlooked but a necessity for the students to stay fit and healthy!
I will teach them how to use the jump ropes while also teaching songs to jump to. Some of my English learners have no idea how to play the games so they will be learning new songs when they use the jump rope. This will help them learn English quickly while having fun.
The students do not know how to play kickball so we will go out and learn the rules, learn how to kick, and learn how to run the bases. Most of my students have never tried a hula hoop so we will share the hula hoop and work on getting the waist slim and trim. The parachute will be used as an entire class activity. Half will be holding the sides as the other half runs through! Last, the tennis balls will help with hand eye coordination when they throw it to each other as well as the jump rope where it is learning how to time the jump.
As you know, many children don't go out to play and ride bikes around the neighborhood and school is sometimes the only place to have outside fun.
