My Students
My students may come from meager means, humble homes, and fractured families, but they come eager and excited to learn. My Title I school houses students K-8 and provides each and everyone with not only breakfast and lunch but a classroom that serves as a home.
They are not just my students but my family, and each year I am lucky enough to begin a school year with new members.
While my family continues to grow, their needs continue to be met with proper support and dedication.
My Project
With the return of school on our horizon, plans to create a safe and successfully classroom environment have been at the forefront of my mind.
In a classroom that promotes sharing of materials, interaction with peers and the use of an extremely special library, we now need to create a new normal with safe and separate spaces and ways to store student supplies.
It is my plan to provide each student with a plastic container to keep not only their pencils, crayons and items that lead towards success, but also extra masks and cleaning supplies. By allowing students to take care of their own supply bin with individual materials inside, the chance of contamination decreases significantly.
