I have the most lively, dedicated, hard-working and inquisitive group of kids and I love seeing them experience new things through their own self-guided curiosity and commitment! Their determination and hard work not only inspires each other but also inspires me every day to become a better teacher.
I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish this upcoming school year and I truly believe we've only scratched the surface of what these kids can do.

My Project
My school's goal this year is to become more globally aware. Therefore, I want to make my classroom an area that is rich in culturally diverse materials, including books and globes. I want my students to be knowledgeable on the different cultures in the world and understand how to be tolerant of them.
My fourth graders have been assigned 'Asia' to explore and learn about throughout this year.
Our goal is to find connections between our North Carolina curriculum and the culture of Asia. By doing this, we are creating children who will grow up recognizing, understanding and appreciating cultural differences. The process of creating globally aware children needs to start as soon as possible and these books, maps, and flags will contribute to that by providing a culturally rich 'Asia Corner' in our classroom.
