Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an incredible group of 4th-grade students, many of whom are English language learners or come from diverse language backgrounds. To support their growth in literacy, I am implementing GLAD strategies to build a language-rich classroom. These strategies use visual tools, academic vocabulary, and interactive learning to boost comprehension. This will also build confidence for all students in my class, including English learners, students with special needs, and those who benefit from multi-sensory, structured instruction.

To make this possible, we need materials like chart paper, markers, sentence strips, and visual aids to create engaging anchor charts, pictorial input charts, and language walls.

These tools will help students actively use academic language and build the skills they need to thrive. Your support will directly impact our classroom and give my students the opportunity to grow as empowered readers, writers, and communicators.
