My Project
We're halfway through the school year and seeing the results of our hard work has been amazing. From students improving in phonological and phonemic awareness to understanding math applications better, we are looking forward to meeting student goals by the end of the year.
My class comprises students in grades K-3, and a few could use a bit more support with letter sounds and consonant and vowel blends.
The Kid Lips Picture Cards are sure to help them with their phonological development. Recently, our district has adopted a Science of Reading curriculum to support reading acquisition. In my class, these lip cards have helped students understand letter sounds because they can see exactly how your mouth and lips are positioned. The best part is that the mouth cards are kids' pictures, individuals they can identify with. The not-so-best part is that I only have one pack and would love for each student to have their own when working independently or at home.
Using these cards, I have seen improvements in my students who were not performing as well at the beginning of the year. These cards are also on quality cardstock, which makes them difficult to rip. However, as an added measure, I plan on laminating with the school laminating machine.
