My Students

My students make being a teacher, the most heartwarming experience. I have a small class and working one-on-one is something that we are privileged to do often with our smaller numbers. I teach 3rd grade in a Title I Elementary School.

I believe that each time my students come through the classroom door, a world of possibilities awaits.

This year, I want to provide them with the opportunity to expand their creativity, dive in to hands on learning projects, and facilitate a classroom that lets them be anything they want to be.

When I was little, my parents believed that I could be anything I set my mind to. That same belief that was given to me is something I pass down to all of the students in my class. I want them to know that the world is their oyster and they can do anything.

My Project

I remember being a child in a classroom and sometimes finding myself fidgeting in the chair. It can be hard to sit in the same chair for what feels like hours on end to children. I have selected items for this project that would give them more seating options. They will get to choose where they sit for activities. Student choice helps them feel empowered and gives them a voice.

Flexible seating gives students the ability to move around the room to be more comfortable, empowers them with choice, and stimulates the sense of touch for those who need it.
