My Students

Located in a blue-collar region of South Carolina, my classes are full of students that dream big - no matter their financial background. Every single day, my students have the opportunity not just to learn about history but to live it through re-enactments and readings.

My students are really creative and express themselves through artwork, projects, and design.

Sometimes though they need some assistance to express that creativity and with your help, they can feel like the winners that they are with the pencils and highlighters.

My Project

A carpenter needs a hammer, a doctor needs a scalpel, and my students need essential materials to ensure their success. One of the key resources they need are pencils and highlighters. Having a readily available supply of both utensils makes learning so much easier and fun for students to complete their assignments.

We practice a variety of strategies in my classroom including note-taking and analyzing historical texts.

Imagine all the possibilities. From reading about the experience of an African Slave to examining President Wilson's Fourteen Point Plan after World War I, students can formulate their opinions about the important moments of our world. With your help, we can ensure that our LEARNERS of today become our LEADERS of tomorrow while using these highlighters and pencils.
