Wellness Warrior

I need to enhance my training in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) so I can effectively support the emotional wellness of my students. I will be attending a 200-hour wellness teacher program.

My Project

Meditation, mindful movement, and breath work have been an integral part of my life and I have experienced first-hand the healing effects of these practices. Now, it is my desire to pass on these same practices to my students. As a classroom teacher, I have witnessed stressed-out, anxiety-filled children who struggle to understand their emotions and consequently may have difficulties navigating their time in the classroom. Teaching students how to recognize their emotions, understand them, and how to regulate them is both beneficial and essential to their well-being and education.

I am graciously requesting funding so I may attend the Breathe For Change 200-hour Wellness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training.

This training will enhance my knowledge of and application of SEL practices providing me certification as a social-emotional learning facilitator and a yoga instructor. These certifications will qualify me to lead wellness classes for students where I can support them in their wellness journey by utilizing the powers of yoga, meditation, and breathing in our daily encounters.

It is my highest hope as an educator to inspire children to be the best version of themselves, and by providing them with essential tools to enhance their well-being they will be own their way to becoming their own best version.
