Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As school social workers we support students in accessing resources that help them cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and stay motivated to learn. This snacks, fidgets, and items that we provide support the emotional and mental well-being of our students, many of whom face unique challenges that impact their ability to thrive in the classroom.

In addition, I am requesting snacks and other basic necessities that will be available for students who may be experiencing hunger or who need a quick energy boost to get through the school day.

Sometimes, something as simple as a fruit snack can make a significant difference in a child’s ability to focus and stay motivated. Providing this support ensures that all students, regardless of their home situation, are ready to learn and succeed.

We also use reward systems and goal-setting tools to encourage students to feel proud of their efforts and remind them that they are capable of overcoming obstacles. These items will not only promote emotional well-being but also help students build resilience, self-esteem, and the motivation to succeed in school and beyond.
