Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Over the course of several weeks, students from my classroom will encourage our school community from 3rd-5th grade to run, jog, or walk every day, tracking their progress and celebrating consistency. The goal is simple: build the habit of moving more, every day.
Making physical activity a habit now is incredibly important, especially as summer approaches when many children tend to spend more time indoors.
This challenge culminates in an exciting, high-energy Color Fun Run, an unforgettable event where students will race through clouds of vibrant Holi powder, celebrating their commitment to wellness and their journey toward a healthier lifestyle.
This community service initiative aims to establish a daily exercise routine for our school community and beyond. Running or jogging not only helps kids stay active but also provides long-term benefits for their physical and mental health. Building healthy habits as children not only benefits the individual but also has a profound impact on the entire community. Healthy, active children grow into healthier adults, and their habits can create a ripple effect that influences families, schools, neighborhoods, and society as a whole.
