My Project

My school is organizing a student-led, school-wide Wellness Day to promote physical, emotional, and mental health for all students and staff and families through community service. This will be a monthly community service event and will feature interactive stations designed and facilitated by students, encouraging mindfulness, movement, nutrition, and connection.

Students will take the lead in every stage of this initiative.

They will take ownership of planning and running each station, including creating schedules, making informational posters, preparing materials, and facilitating hands-on activities that serve their school community.

This event is not just about student wellness; it’s about students serving others. By leading sessions on mindfulness, fitness, nutrition, and social-emotional connection, they will be helping their peers and teachers develop healthy habits and build a culture of care across the school. Their actions model leadership, empathy, and service, extending the impact far beyond our classroom walls.

To bring this vision to life, I am requesting a variety of materials that will support key areas of Wellness Day:

Healthy Snacks & Hydration: This is a student-run snack lounge where they’ll offer nutritious choices that support both body and mind.

Mindfulness & Mental Health Tools: Journals with positive affirmations, sensory stickers, and fidget tools will be used at student-led relaxation stations where they’ll guide others in managing stress and building coping skills.

Movement & Physical Wellness: Yoga mats and stopwatches will enable students to lead fitness challenges and stretch breaks that promote heart health and physical activity in fun, inclusive ways.

These materials will support not only our Wellness Day but also long-term student-led wellness efforts throughout the school year, including in classrooms and counseling spaces. Our students will not only improve their own well-being, they’ll inspire and uplift their entire community.
