This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located a few miles from the California-Mexico border with 100% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches. We are a class of first and second-grade students who are anxious and happy to learn. With the curriculum becoming more rigorous, especially in reading and math, we want to be able to experience the learning firsthand and be focused. Our class is an active bunch of students who are highly engaged and ready to dive into learning.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will be able to feel like that they ALL have a front-row seat when they're viewing something on the document camera. Our current document camera is hanging on by a thread and because of its outdated technology, it can be glitchy and blurry. With our new STEM Lego Kits, a document camera is essential when doing assembly demonstrations.
With the desks spaced out in our classroom, a quality document camera is more important than ever.
All students regardless of where they sit in the classroom should feel like they have the best seat in the house when viewing something under the document camera. It may be a reading passage, a shared writing activity, using math manipulatives and tools, or even assembling LEGO blocks.
We hope that this document camera makes a home in our classroom so we can all feel like we have the best seat in the house when viewing anything and everything under our document camera.
