Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students often perform better in classes they feel comfortable and safe in. My goal as a first year teacher is create a space where students feel they are comfortable and able to be themselves.
Posters with inspirational motivation throughout the class as well as warm colors to set the tone of the classroom will help students be able to perform and focus more in class.
My goal is to create a classroom that motivates students want to get work done and it not feel like an unhappy classroom. Everything requested will be used to create an atmosphere where students feel welcome and safe. The school I will be teaching at is a Title I school, where students need that extra love and support and feeling of home because some of their home lives are rough and school is where they try to feel more at home. The schools items like a desk chair, bulletin boards, class decor, expo markers are out of date, very old, all together falling apart and limited in what is available to teachers.
I work really hard at creating relationships with students to give them all of the love and support I can at school, having a welcoming classroom can make all of the difference.
