Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each student brings unique and important view into the classroom. For this reason it is important for students to work together collaboratively. These new desks will allow students to take charge of their learning and work collaboratively with their peers in both STEM and Science. Currently my students have individual desks that are different heights and sizes. This makes putting desk together hard as they are never stable enough for lab materials or big enough for STEM. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given the necessary materials they need to succeed.
When students work collaboratively in groups they are more engaged and learn to value each others strengths, weaknesses and opinions.
They learn that each person plays a vital role in the classroom.
