Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sure an arts concert is great, but what if we did the entire thing in the dark with all of the art and instruments glowing with blacklight! This experience will be one my kids will never forget!
My kiddos live pretty simple lives.
Even though we live within a 20 minute ride from many theme parks and huge tourist attractions, many of my students will never see them because of their circumstances. Students that have the enthusiasm and fervor that mine have should have extraordinary experiences at their school. They love creating and sharing with others and can't get enough of the arts.
My Project
The blacklights that I'm requesting will be used in many different performances for my students. I have purchased neon gaffers tape to put tape on my instruments and we are going to spray paint pots and pans and different manipulatives so that we can create music that will glow in the dark with our blacklights! My art teacher is going to have students make art projects with neon paint so that their creations will decorate the walls of our cafeteria during our amazing Midnight Zone concert. But it won't stop there. My art teacher and I plan on using them in the classroom as well during many of our lessons for all of our kiddos!
The arts at our school is one of the only ways that our children will experience culture and performance in a personal way.
We are always thinking of ways to pump up the volume and really make their experiences memorable. These glow in the dark lessons and performances will forever live in our students memories and open their minds to many other ways to create and see the arts.
