This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although we have many new rules and regulations to start our new year, our classroom is usually the first exposure students in our area have had to school. Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
The materials that I requested are materials that will welcome my students into my classroom when the school year begins. Because we are not sure on the parameters for the start of school, I want to continue to ensure I have things to be able to individualize if necessary.
I want to be sure our classroom is set up and as welcoming as possible for these new students.
I also want to continue to be sure we are being safe and staying healthy, so our students new to their education journey, will feel comfortable and feel they are in a place to learn and thrive.
