My Students

Middle school is commonly seen as a difficult time of life for most teenagers. But 30 leadership students in grades 6 to 8 spend the year trying to make this school experience a positive one for everyone. This is an elective, and the district does not provide any funds to support this class. Students have to find creative ways to make their projects come to life.

As one of our school service projects, we'd like to provide welcome kits to new students.

These will include items such as: a water bottle, pencils, wristbands, bookmarks, school gear, and other goodies!

Our middle school is home to approximately 350 bright and talented students. We are a rural school in northern Idaho, and the nearest four-year college is over two hours away.

My Project

Moving to a new school or town is hard enough, but when you are moving during the middle school years... it can be even more difficult. One of our goals in the Leadership class is to show school service to others.

We would like to put together "Welcome Kits" for new students coming to the middle school.

Each student who comes thoughout the year will get a water bottle filled with thoughtful items. A note with an explanation of each item will also be included:

Goldfish - BCMS Leadership class would like to of”fish”ally welcome you.

Water bottle - We hope while you are here you never stop “thirsting” for your education.

Pencil - This should remind you that it’s okay to make mistakes, erase them, and start again.

Gum - We want to remind you to stick with it… even when it’s difficult.

Smarties - Everyone here is smart in their own way… take time to discover your talents.

Wristband - This is a reminder that you are unique, and we are glad you are here.

Bookmark - Middle school is a small chapter in your life...make the most of it.
