Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is the home of brilliant, creative, and endearing students from the heart of Reno, Nevada. These children showed me exactly how smart and capable they were from day one!

Over the course of a few weeks, my classroom has been transformed from a quiet and shy space with four walls to a vibrant and curious home to a family of students!

The students I am honored to teach this year were only 3 when the Pandemic began. Although they are making steady progress towards Math and ELA standards, growing into a solid school family is a new experience for students who can only remember a life spent in isolation.

With an emphasis on social emotional learning and cooperation within the classroom, these hard working kiddos will become the masters of their own learning and relationship building.

The materials in this project will be used to support speaking and listening as well as practicing social interactions in low pressure environments.

My Project

The materials I chose to include are all going to support ELA.K. Speaking, Listening, and Language standards. As the Lockdown of 2020, we have been proactive about keeping children healthy. This has created a new learning curve for social emotional behavior. The materials I selected will be used to support students assimilating into a structured and social environment. The included materials are tools I would never be able to provide my students. I believe with these extra toolsc I can provide students with many opportunities to practice regulation, self-control, and positive decision making.
