My Project

During professional development for teachers, I love doing simulation activities to help teachers understand what students might be able to see and not see in their classroom. The vision simulation will help teachers learn about accommodations and modifications to help students be successful in the classroom. If a student needs large print or black-and-white assignments. If the student needs to be placed in a different setting. If the student needs extended time to complete assignments or help modify assessments. What can students see in the classroom? How can I help my students be more engaged in their learning? Teachers will complete hands-on activities while wearing the simulation goggles. The teachers will also use the simulation goggles to help learn how students with a visual impairment can move around in their environment with training in Orientation and Mobility.
