My Project

The items I have selected I have used in years past and they are so effective.

First graders are eager to learn, but need specific tools to keep them excited about learning!

Reading is challenging and takes several years to master.

First grade is a crucial time for foundational phonics skills. The benchmark is 51 words per minute fluently by the end of first grade. That is not our goal. Our goal is 100 words per minute and when we have tools like this, about 80% of our students meet the goal of 100! Pushing those skills with fun tools and then reinforcing those skills with items like treasure box prizes, or a fun craft to match the hard work they have put in is priceless!
