Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students arrive at school hungry in the morning, as some do not have the means to eat breakfast before coming to class. Providing snacks not only helps address their hunger, but also shows them that I care about their well-being. These small breakfast bars and candy can be something provided throughout the day to any child who asks, but the goal is the make sure every child starts the day off with something to eat.
Unfortunately, some students cannot afford certain brands of snacks, which is why I want to offer them a variety of options to ensure they have something to eat.
To better support my students, I plan to use a mini bagel heater to prepare small breakfast foods, making it easier for them to have a nourishing start to their day. Additionally, I will need bins to store the food safely and keep it away from pests, along with bags to distribute the snacks efficiently. This initiative will help create a more supportive and caring environment for my students.
