Welcome (Safely) Back to School with Books on Unity
Help me give my students books that focus on building a strong classroom community focused on unity after COVID-19. We also need a color printed to print out materials and handouts that pair with our read alouds.
My students come to school each day from a wide variety of backgrounds, settings and abilities. As they enter each morning, those differences fall away and they all become eager, enthusiastic and excited to see what's going to happen and where the lessons will take them as we begin our day. My paraprofessional and I work hard to bring the world to them, one topic at a time, with a focus on involved learning, deep questioning in a mixed aged abilities Montessori classroom. My primary classroom has students from ages three, four, and kindergarten.
My Project
Returning back to school after COVID-19 as a educator I need to focus on unity and building my classroom community. To accomplish this goal I books that foster that bringing us together and support materials like a printer and activities form Teacher Pay Teachers. These materials will be used enrichment purposes for active read-alouds and individual materials for each student in our classroom. Learning to support each student through this challenging time in education is my goal. I want each student to come to school knowing they will be successful each day. Having a printer and new books will allow me to specialize my learning content for each child. We are trying to connect on a more personal level and find what makes each student needs to be successful in and outside the classroom and this starts with fostering a classroom environment built on safety and love.
