Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I often change the themes and decorations in my classroom to keep the students interested and motivated to want to come to school. I have used themes such as the ocean, the jungle, and outer space in the past. I asked my students what they would like to see next, for the new school year, and Mickey Mouse was the winner with the most votes.
I want to incorporate new characters for the upcoming schoolyear theme so who better than Mickey Mouse himself with all of his friends he makes through his adventures.
I will use the Mickey Mouse bulletin board sets, the Mickey Mouse border trims, and the Mickey Mouse cut outs to update my bulletin boards and to decorate my kindergarten classroom. This is where I will display all of my students' work samples. The students can look at it and so can their family members when they come to visit. I want the students to be proud of their accomplishments! I will have a class store in my room where students will be able to purchase Mickey Mouse items with the pretend money they earned throughout the week. The multi-colored zipper pouches will be their wallets, the plastic folders and Mickey pencils will be used for homework, and the lanyards and stickers will be used for the first few weeks of school.
