Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning we begin with warm words, compliments, jokes and smiles at the classroom door. As a teacher and their mom at school, I know I initiate the classroom climate. Besides when my kids are happy. I'm happy with them!
My first grade students are power generators and happy campers.
Yes, many live in the low income area, government subsidized housings or shelters in the Bronx. However, their self-motivation to learn to succeed exceeds those of the ones in affluent areas.
Our school is a Title One school located in the Bronx. We strive to meet every students at his or her level and support him or her to achieve his or her best potential. We as a school community try to work collaboratively with parents and with each other to better our education system.
My Project
With the furniture, bins and folders, we will stay more organized. This will help us to have a smoother transition between activities, and not waste our precious learning time. This will also help us to have a less cluttered and more safe classroom.
The stationary goods are the ones that will help us to extend and practice our learning. Those supplies are scarce at our school and any parents can't afford to send school supplies.
My project will offer students a more organized, inviting classroom with materials students can use to learn.
Their achievements will be celebrated in books and laminated pieces. This will be a nice learning cycle that will motivate them to learn more and celebrate.
