My students need classroom supplies to make the classroom like home.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Lenox's classroom raised $250
This project is fully funded
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
They like to move, they love to learn through music and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Most of them struggle with their emotions and need emotional support. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
I am requesting classroom items to help my emotion support students like, relax chairs, and motivation poster to make the class look like a bright class.
1) I want the students to come in their classroom and be able to sit in a relaxed comfortable chair, so they can talk and express their emotions during our workshop class for example dealing with anger management.
2) Students need to come to a bright room to feel safe and able to learn in a fun environment with vivid color and motivation poster like I am Somebody poster on the wall. The students need to see inspiration and be uplifted to build their self-esteem.
3) The Whole Brain Teaching Challenge book would help me as a teacher to help me guide my students to be engaged in learning and express their emotion in a better way.
4) I needed the letters to post quotes on the wall for the example Belief in Yourself, Dream, Try, and Do Good. This is our classroom theme this year.
5) I needed the set of the four buzzers for classroom discussion and activities during the five groups life skills workshop.
6) The students needed a pencil sharpener to able to sharpen their pencils in class.
The classroom items like the relax seat, poster, whole Brain books, and items would help my students to have a safe place to learn and will help me as an educator to engage my students.
My students need to have many opportunities to come in a bright classroom and be engaged to learn life skills.
