This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although we are in a public school system, we do not have adequate desks and chairs. Money in our state is being fought over, and kids needs are last on the list. I am hoping that with this donation my kids who come from low income families will feel like true scholars with their new desks and chairs
My students are 2nd and 3rd graders who have a mix of ages.
They at times reach for the chairs that are the best and fight over them at times. It would be nice if every chair and desk was the same, and they could feel comfortable wherever they sit in my classroom!
My Project
My students, in comparison to other parts of our urban community, are very poor. We are in an area where parents work 2 to 3 jobs day and night. Fundraisers are rarely held, and when they are we never make money to be put back into functional use for the classroom.
My students would feel like real scholars.
Our school has low morale coming into the school year because of the teachers that were laid off! However, if they can come back to new materials with an energetic teacher (who was laid off but hired back) morale among families and kids would be increased hugely.
Your donation will be a great welcome back present! They will have pride in their classroom and their teacher with their brand new desks and chairs. They will be able to see that they have a school they can depend on even though at times outside of the classroom they do not have the best life can offer.
If you donate to this project then it would be helping our school community by the amount of consideration you have shown to these students.
They will know that they have the best education can offer them because right now they have desks that do not welcome them back to school.
