Welcome Back to Counseling Services

Help me give my students pocket charts for interactive emotional check-ins and back-to-school basics to start the year off strong!

My Project

I know that my students are going to be super excited to come back to school in September. My students are resilient, enthusiastic, and imaginative learners. They care about others and are curious about the world around them. I work with kindergarten through 5th grade in a school that serves students with autism, speech/ language impairments, learning disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. All of my students participate in counseling services to support in developing their emotion regulation and social skills.

All of the resources in this project will help me to set up our students for success in their counseling services this year.

The "colors of the world" markers and colored pencils will give kids opportunities to create art that is representative of their own identify. The dot markers will help make writing and coloring activities more accessible for students that are not yet able to hold a pencil. We also need to restock our supply of glue sticks, paper, and other school essentials. What I am most excited for is the new pocket charts. We are going to use the pocket charts to create interactive emotional check-ins for the beginning of our counseling sessions (and any other times that students need support from the school social worker).

Thank you so much for helping us to get a head start this year. My students are so excited to learn and practice new skills. I can't wait to see the progress they make towards their counseling goals with the support of the materials from this project. Thank you!
