This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are a diverse group who come from a challenging environment. Attending a Title I school and living in poverty-stricken neighborhoods, these children are not often able to come to school prepared with both supplies and the knowledge of the what's going on in the world around them. In order to get them more involved in school and their community, they will need fun activities and more resources to do so. If it weren't for teachers spending money out of their own pockets to purchase school supplies, classroom needs, and create hands-on activities and projects, students would not be able to learn to the best of their ability. This is where you can help, too!
With your donation, we will be able to make each and every student have all of the necessary items needed to make learning not only happen more successfully, but make it fun, as well!
My Project
Science is more than a subject in school; it's an approach to the world! I want my students to get the most out of their science curriculum and with these supplies for the classroom, they will have that opportunity. Instead of simply going to the lab and having STEM as a special once or twice a week, I want to fully engage them with a content-rich classroom with opportunities to see the life cycle of a butterfly, how water is filtered, how solar power works and much, much more!
These science kits, books, games and supplies for my classroom will encourage my students to enjoy all that science has to offer and will help my students observe how the world works around them.
Through hands-on learning with experiments, science kits, brainstorms and other materials and resources, my students will be able to be fully engaged in more scientific knowledge. I want my students to love exploring and adding to their STEM resources in my classroom will help them do so!
