This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students would benefit greatly from instruction on the proper use of weights. Middle School and High School students who become involved in after school sports and/or fitness workouts typically have little experience with conditioning and weight training.
With the introduction of dumbbells and barbells students can learn safe and effective techniques that are needed for a lifetime of sport and fitness.
What better place to introduce these skills than in Physical Education classes and After School Athletics.
Students can begin to learn introductory weight lifting techniques in upper elementary grades and build upon those foundations in Middle School Physical Education and After School Athletics.
