The 300 student-athletes of our school are very hardworking individuals who are very competitive both on the field and track and in the classroom. These students are very committed and determined. I teach in a low-income area. After being hit hard by Hurricane Irma, many families were at a loss. This help with new equipment for our school will bring the light back in these young children's eyes, and things will get back to normal sooner than later.
Participating in sports relieves the students' stress level and keeps them more focused!
My Project
I am writing this project for jump ropes, Resistance bands, and balls to help grow our weight training program. Our community was hit hard by the hurricane this year and our school administration has been working diligently to get everything back to normal.
Many families have been put a tough loss both financially and emotionally from the hurricane.
The cost of clean-up and loss of income has put a burden on many in our community. Recovery has been very exhausting to the students, and with all the other things going on with schools the kids have a hard time focusing.
The stress these kids have been under has been beyond rough, and with sports and different fitness activities, it can at least get their mind focused on something else for the time being.
