My Students

Both of my classes are part of a Spanish dual immersion program that our school participates in. These students all come from various diverse backgrounds and enjoy learning from one another. They are caring and patient with each other as they learn how to communicate in a different language. It has been an amazing experience to be their teacher and see how close they have grown as they lift and celebrate each other's accomplishments!

They are determined and courageous as they learn to speak another language.

Every day they come into my class they are excited and ready to learn! They love new challenges and thrive at overcoming them together. I am thankful to have such a fun, creative and compassionate group of kids that are so enthusiastic to learn new things!

My Project

In the dual immersion program, our students have an English and Spanish classroom. These two classes share the same desks and are required to take all their text books and materials with them when they switch, so that the other class can have room to put their stuff in their desk.

With these "At Your Seat Storage Sacks" we can create more storage space for students to keep their heavy textbooks in and not have to haul them in from one class to the other.

This will also increase the amount of space students have to keep whiteboards in their sacks.

Our whiteboards are very old and worn down and with the addition of the chair sacks, I would like to provide my students with whiteboards. These whiteboards also have a plastic sleeve on the backside that allows me to create learning diagrams that students can practice on without having to waste more paper than necessary.

Our classroom library is also in need of revamping. It is difficult to find books in Spanish and they are often more expensive, which has kept our library limited. Our students would be ecstatic to have some new reading material.

You will be lifting a weight off our shoulders, literally and figuratively by helping me provide these resources to my students.
