Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our football players are excited to get their next season going. They show up every day ready to learn the game they love as well as excel in the classroom when off the field. Last year when our staff took over we, unfortunately, did not have a junior varsity team and barely enough student-athletes for a varsity. Our staff and students' hard work paid off and JV played this year! We are trying to bring this prestigious program back to where it once was.
My Project
Weightlifting is essential in the success of any football program. These squat racks will benefit our student-athletes in our slowly developing weight room. Safety is key when you are lifting weights and these squat racks provide the safety needed in order to push yourself to the next level. We took over a once proud program 2 years ago and were left with virtually nothing. Slowly my coaching staff and I are receiving the items needed in order to run a successful football team where we want our athletes to be great people first, great students and then great football players.
