Help me give my students their very own Scholastic News weekly reader magazines.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are eager to learn and I am grateful for the opportunity to teach them. Our school serves primarily low-income families and the majority of my students are Hispanic. Many of the students live with one parent or are cared for by grandparents or other relatives. It has been difficult to get quality instructional materials that go beyond the basic curriculum. They respond positively to information and experiences that provide learning opportunities outside of our normal routine agenda. I try to make school challenging, but fun. I want my students to look forward to coming each day, just like I do!
This project is for Scholastic News weekly reader magazines for my third graders. These magazines motivate my students to want to learn to read and encourage them to explore and investigate the world around them. They also provide opportunities for supplemental online adventures.
Many of my students do not have access to reading materials outside of the classroom.
Reading these magazines together at school and then sending them home fosters a love for reading in my students, while at the same time helping them build a library of age-appropriate, quality reading materials they can keep and enjoy when they are not at school.
These magazines would be a great resource for my students. Please consider sponsoring this classroom project. Thank you!
