Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach third grade at a high-need, low socio-economic status, public school. Many of these children have lived in shelters, been exposed to gangs, have parents who are incarcerated and have themselves vandalized property and assaulted other children.
These children need to be exposed to events that are happening in the world today that relate to science, social studies and world news. They need to see things that are happening outside their community which are good and productive to give them a better outlook for their future.
My students need 23 copies of Weekly Reader News and 23 copies of Time for Kids magazines. The text and images presented in these magazines are informative, instructive and entertaining. They also promote information retention and critical thinking.
Your help will ensure that my students will be exposed to worldly events that they otherwise will know nothing about. It will help them to see outside their community and look forward to a positive and productive future.

TIME For Kids Magazine- News Scoop Edition w/ TFK Around the World (grades 2-3). Pricing is valid for orders placed after March 2008. After August 15th of current school year, pricing will remain in effect but TIME For Kids reserves the right to prorate issue quantity and free gifts. Only valid for orders in quantities of 10 or more. Orders for less than 10 subscriptions will NOT be fulfilled.
