Website Needed to Keep Our School Community Engaged and Informed
Help me give my students a website that meets website accessibility requirements, improves communication, and engages both students and parents with their school.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students and their parents have been met with a multitude of challenges as our nation has turned upside down during the pandemic. They need assistance by giving them the opportunity to participate in engaging, thought-provoking educational opportunities as they work in school and at home. A website will provide equitable access for all students and parents in our school including those with unique learning needs.
The best way to reach all our students and their families is through our professional website as a means to support them with engaging and meaningful learning experiences and assist in sharing what is happening in the school.
A website is crucial in keeping parents well informed by extending and sharing what is happening across the grades at home during distance learning via pictures or video that can be uploaded. Even during normal times, it allows us to share what students are doing beyond the walls of the classroom. We are now also required to make our websites handicapped accessible by following accessibility laws. This falls on the teacher and administrators who are inundated with many other jobs along with teaching children full-time. These factors make it more feasible and secure to bring in an expert to help us, and contributions such as yours support us to do just that! This is why we need to pay for a webmaster to assist us and support us in every way. This invoice is for partial installment payment of the yearly cost as we pay the company in installments. They were very kind to work with us on that.
