My Students

I love my 7th and 8th-grade students! They walk into my 3D Art/Studio Art classroom not knowing what they are getting themselves into. They soon learn that clay, glaze, armatures, carvings, paintings, glass fusing, watercolor, acrylics, weaving, and additive sculptures are an amazing ways to express themselves!

My Project

Help my students identify their emotions in a positive and creative outlet. Paper weaving has always been a favorite project with my students and having an opportunity to weave on real looms will enhance their creativity even more!

Covid-19 has brought many emotions and weaving is an excellent outlet for social-emotional learning.

We will be able to use color to express what we feel (red=anger, green=peaceful, etc), different fibers and textures (rough string vs. soft yarn), and different mediums (ribbons, sticks, chunky yarn, thin threads) to create beautiful tapestries that reflect our thoughts and feelings.
