Help me give my students with autism materials to learn about butterflies, weather, and our planet through sensory kits and hands-on activities designed for diverse learners.

My Project

I teach a class of incredible students with autism who are mostly nonverbal and have significant learning challenges. Despite their communication and cognitive differences, they are curious, joyful, and love learning through sensory-rich, hands-on experiences. These learners thrive with materials that are visual, tactile, and interactive—especially when exploring big ideas like nature and the environment.

This project will bring science and climate awareness to life for my students in a way that meets their developmental needs.

The live butterfly habitat kit will allow my students to observe metamorphosis and learn to care for living things. A weather sensory bin and activity kit with tactile elements will help them explore clouds, rain, wind, and sunshine.

Your support will give my students access to science and climate topics in a way that is meaningful and accessible to them. These materials will support environmental awareness, science learning, communication, and engagement for learners who often struggle with abstract content.

Together, we can give my students the tools to connect with the world around them—and learn how to take care of it.
