This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, energetic and curious! They absolutely love hands-on, engaging projects that challenge them physically, and mentally to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day eager to learn something new. Truly, they are my inspiration!
All of my students are excited to come to school and escape the reality of their lives.
Our school is located in the heart of Kalamazoo, Michigan. In an area of inadequate living conditions, high-risk neighborhoods, and low-income households. Yet, my students find a sense of safety, and positivity in my classroom.
Each student in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although some face challenges, they never give up. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky that I get to witness their academic and personal growth.
My Project
The clothes will provide warmth and comfort to one of my students. He is a sweet, kind-hearted child who deserves to have warm clothes that fit. By donating to this project you'll boost his confidence, and provide him with the basic essential for life.
Even at a young age children notice when things aren't right with what they have on, and how they look.
He notices. I would like help to reassure him that he's important, that he's deserving, and that I care about him. We all know that when you look good, you feel good as well. Help him feel good!
