We Would Love Some Smart PALs

My students need 40 SmartPAL sleeves.

This project is fully funded

I am a fourth grade teacher at a public school in New York. My school is a title one school, which means a majority of our families are in financial need. My students are wonderful children who have a desire to learn and crave new and exiting experiences.

My students, as fourth graders, face a multitude of State Exams from January to May. They are testing in English Language Arts, Science, and Mathematics. To help my students prepare for the Mathematics exam I use various worksheets on many different topics. For example we might use a worksheet with an analog and digital clock on it. If I want to have the students complete various activities on elapsed time I would need to make multiple copies of this sheet for each on of my students. With a class of 30 four copies of this sheet for each student comes to 120 copies. I would be killing one too many trees.

In order to save these trees I have found a transparent sleeve, called a SmartPAL that the students can put their worksheets in. Students write their answers using a low-odor dry-erase marker and quickly wipe them away with washcloths. Perfect for tracking my students' progress throughout the lesson. These SmartPALs are a positive way to liven up my classroom! I hope using these SmartPALs will make the test preparation lessons a bit more entertaining for my students.

Items like these are rare in our school. I know that if my students were the recipients of these SmartPALs they would be so excited that not only would they enjoy their math lessons they would never want to put them down. These SmartPALs are so durable that my students in years to come will also have a wonderful learning experiences. Thank you so much for opening your heart to my students. The smiles on their faces are going to be priceless.
