Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine getting to school and not having paper to write on? Or markers to draw and create posters? A child cannot learn without these items, and a teacher cannot teach.
My students live and attend school in the inner city of Los Angeles.
Some students simply cannot afford to buy school supplies, and, unfortunately, I cannot afford to provide supplies for 105 students. The students and I need supplies to have an effective classroom; it only gets harder as our school's budget is continually shrinking.
My Project
Most of the supplies I am requesting, such as markers, paper, and a pencil sharpener guaranteed not to quit on us, are enough to last the year. We have a lot of projects and writing ahead in our English and History classes but we cannot do it without your generous support! Imagine students completing their writing assignments without a "paper usage maximum." They could keep writing and revising to their hearts' content. Also imagine history students able to create vivid and dynamic maps of ancient dynasties instead of just reading from the text. This is the classroom I am aiming for with these school supplies.
I don't know if there is anything more useful than paper in classroom.
My students' parents cannot shop for new school supplies like our parents did for us. I am simply requesting some help to stock my classroom for the year with the necessities. These supplies will help 105 students a day for a year. That is quite an amazing impact you will be able to make, not to mention receiving my immeasurable gratitude!
