Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is composed of 55 fifth graders in a general education class, with students with IEP and ELL learners and special education students such as those with autism.
The students in my classroom are motivated, loving, and hardworking!
They are imaginative and creative! Most of my students, however, come from low-income families. The opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among our student population.
My class is composed of ten students with disabilities. My students have made great strides in the school year. My students are of African-American and Hispanic descent with 99% of them receiving free or reduced school meals.
Our school is located in a high poverty, industrial neighborhood surrounded by factories and nonstop high traffic. Nevertheless, they are excited about learning and they come to school every day with hope, expectation and enthusiasm.
This project is in desperate need of amazing supporters as yourself. My students are in desperate need of tools that they do not have in the classroom.
My Project
We teach a vulnerable population that is often struggling with emotional and financial issues.
We create a special learning environment for our students by providing special programs and services that are not available in traditional public schools.
It is perfect for helping little hands develop their fine motor skills as well as letter, number and shape recognition!
We will use these dies (upper and lowercase, numbers, shapes etc.) to teach students letter, number and shape recognition through a variety of activities.
These will be a fun means of decorating our classroom with students' work as well as expose them to the necessary skills to prepare them
I am asking for a die-cut machine, die-cut patterns and the die-cut stand to house the patterns. The machine and the patterns will aid us in creating hands-on manipulatives for the students to further gain understanding of concepts, as well as arts and craft projects and bulletin board displays.
The die-cut machine will be placed in a central location within the school, allowing all staff to utilize its many functions as stated above.
The students will benefit from the teachers' use by using the cut pieces in their hands-on learning experiences. The request for the storage unit and the many accessories is so we, as a school, can use it properly, as well as have a diverse selection of die-cut patterns to explore and use.
Your donation towards a die-cut machine, its accessories and the stand will be greatly appreciated by our students and staff.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
