it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are generally full of energy! They learn and focus best when they have the opportunity to move. They have a hard time sitting still in their seats. The Hokki stools I am requesting will allow them to move while they work.
I usually teach a very diverse group of students.
Last year, fourteen of my twenty-six students were Latino, nine were African American, and three were Asian. Eleven of my students were English learners. Most of my students were from working class families. My students' families are generally highly interested and involved in their children's educations. As a school community, however, we need assistance to obtain materials to enrich student learning.
My Project
A Hokki stool is an ergonomic stool that transforms sitting into an activity. The Hokki stool allows students to move in all directions in a safe manner while they sit, which can lead to more productive brainstorming sessions. Students that have a difficult time sitting still are also able to focus better on the lesson in the classroom because they are able to move in a controlled manner while sitting on the Hokki Stool! Physical activity leads to greater brain activity!
