Brain break to brain boosters!! The importance of movement in kids these days is even more important since having all this access to technology. This exercise gets students up and moving in between lessons with the use of pool noodles (as drum sticks) that they use to follow along to a drumming routine. The ability to integrate physical activity into our breaks helps students practice motor skills, learn about rhythm and patterns, and use both sides of their brain. Desk drumming can improve attention and memory, increase brain activity and cognitive function, help students retain information, increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain, and boost moods.
By giving students this opportunity, it allows their brain to reset, refocus and they are then able to retain more information.
