My Students
My fifth graders are such a wonderful and enthusiastic bunch of kids. Their eagerness for learning and love of discovering new things makes me want to provide them with the best learning experiences that I can.
85% of my students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch.
My 5th grade students are from a rural county in South Carolina. Our school only houses 5th and 6th graders. We have about 700 students total. Some of our students have never traveled beyond the county lines.
My Project
I want to take my students on a virtual adventure with the Mattel View-Master that will show students 3-D images that will surround them in every direction. Interactive mini games and fun facts encourage kids to learn about each destination. They will travel the world without leaving our classroom with the Mattel View-Master Destinations experience pack, which features 3-D images from New York, London and the ancient Mayan civilization. They will use the iPod to scan the destination of their choice and the Virtual Reality headset will transport them to their destination!
They will be able to travel the world without leaving our classroom!
They will explore new places and discover wild animals with the Mattel View-Master National Geographic: Wildlife which features scenes from Australia, Africa and the Amazon. 5th grade students explore the different biomes of the world. With the View-Master, students will be able to travel to each of the biomes and discover what life is like there. Students have to create a Biome in a Box project. The Virtual Reality headsets will allow students to get a real world view of their biome and see what life is really like! They will get to explore their biome and play interactive games that will help them create their projects.
