My Project
My 25+ years of experience in the classroom has taught me how important it is for my students to have choices in how they work. Over the past few years, I've slowly started adding flexible seating options to my classroom. I've recently noticed that several students like to stand while they complete work. Standing desks would make this easier and more comfortable for those students who prefer this method.
My goal for this project is to obtain three adjustable standing desks.
Having the desks adjustable will accommodate students of different heights. The option to work at a standing desk can help boost both mood and focus. It can also help with circulation. This is always a plus with learning!
My students are an amazing group of kids. They come from several different Native tribes and have a beautiful culture. Several of the boys are learning traditional drumming and singing. Some students compete in traditional dancing both locally and in other areas of the country.
