We Want To Read With The Big Red Dog, Clifford That Is!
My students need a classroom subscription to My Big World with Clifford scholastic magazine and a classroom laminator and sheets to preserve our projects.
My students are eager to learn by writing and reading. They want to know about the world around them. They are inquisitive 3, 4, and 5 year olds. They are smart, talented, and eager to learn.
My classroom consists of 3, 4, and 5 year old children who attend class four days a week for 6 hours a day.
We work on school readiness goals. This means that children are ready for school, families are ready to support their children's learning, and schools are ready for children. The majority of the children in my classroom come from low-income homes, and this is their first exposure in a school setting. My students are like sponges and want to try everything. All my students have made progress thus far this school year, whether it be progress in early academics or with classroom behavior and following routines and expectations.
My Project
My students will use the My Big World with Clifford SCHOLASTIC Classroom Magazines to learn more about the world around them. They need the attention-grabbing photos and simple nonfiction print to help with letters, numbers, and making it easy for them to show interest in seasonal and social development topics. My students will get more of an insight on the world and gain print awareness to eventually be able to read on their own and to their families. We also need a laminator to preserve the projects and important pictures to hang around our classroom. My students create masterpieces and want to share them with their families, but sometimes it is hard to take them home without being ruined.
This project will make a difference to me and my students because it will add variety of print awareness to our classroom, and to language and literacy lessons.
It will also allow students to stay up-to-date on current events that they might not otherwise have access to. It would also give students an opportunity to find new interests they were not aware of.
