My Students

Do you want to play Connect 4? What a great way to initiate conversations, follow directions, practice math/problem solving skills and build friendships!

We are fortunate to have a small class, school, and town.

There are many connections between students, teachers, staff, and administrators. The administrators schedule school wide events and our students love it! The students perceive these events as playing or entertainment rather than learning. Playing to Learn!

My Project

I am requesting five Connect 4 games. I will review the math skills and model the rules of Connect 4 with the students gathered around as a team. Two students will model Connect 4 with the students gathered around as a team. Ten students will break into partners to play Connect 4. The next ten students will break into partners to play Connect 4. The students will have access to the Connect 4 games to play (and learn) during centers, math, character education, and rainy day recess. My goal for playing (and learning) Connect 4 is to review math skills while creating additional and deeper friendships.

Kids who can follow directions and create meaningful friendships will have a higher chance of being career and/or college ready!
