My Students

How can we measure our success if we can't even measure with a ruler? I teach in a high poverty, low income school. My students have to have hands-on experiences in order to learn, unfortunately we do not have the materials to allow them to do this.

While most of us learned about capacity from our parents and grandparents allowing us to help them in the kitchen, my students don't have this experience.

They have no real-life application of measuring and therefore it is a very hard concept for them. I want to give them this opportunity in school by allowing them the hands on experiences but I need materials to help me achieve this.

My Project

You can help me provide these students with memories of conducting experiments and following recipes. With the purchase of these materials we can meet this grade level expectation in a fun and memorable way. We can make this difficult concept become concrete for them. Your help will help teach these students life-long skills.

With your help I can not only teach capacity, I can spark an interest in experiments.

Together we can make memories that will last them a life time and will enable them to make a direct correlation between those experiments and measurement.
