This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very eager to learn in our Early Childhood classroom setting for students with Autism. All of the students possess special skills/gifts/talents. Each student is unique in their learning and appear to enjoy learning tools that work with their individual learning styles.

My Project

The materials will be used by the children to identify colors and shapes though matching, sorting, lacing and discovery with hands-on materials that will reinforce their learning. Play is another word for work when we are trying to learn through identification, matching/grouping/categorizing and noticing the same or different in the world around us.

Young children with autism learn colors and shapes and best though the use of physical materials and manipulatives.

My students find themselves like the rest of us in a very unusual position with the pandemic and cannot come to school to learn so we have had to find new ways to bring our youngest learners new options for learning their colors and shapes.
